My heart was deeply moved by the words of Ms. İnci, who responded to my colleague and dear wife Çiğdem’s comment on Mr. Doğan Cüceloğlu’s post dated February 21, 2016, and shared her inner world – with all its colors – in its purest form.
I wanted to share some of these heartfelt conversations, where we listened to each other’s hearts within a great team effort, with their permission.
Çiğdem Gül Uğural:
To discover “us,” one must know and understand oneself. A person who knows and discovers themselves becomes “us,” not “me.”
Inci Günal Koçer:
Ms. Çiğdem Gül Uğural, can a person truly be alone on their journey of self? There must be different answers, for example: To the question, “Am I this or that kind of person?”, are they answering what they want to hear, what everyone wants to see, or what truly exists? Even knowing the truth, are they sending what is appealing to their subconscious? Something I always wonder about is, can anyone truly reach their real self, or do they only think they have?
Çiğdem Gül Uğural:
Ms. İnci Günal Koçer, what you have written is very valuable and important. I sincerely thank you for this. Because you have described the system within which an individual, amidst a multitude of colorful personalities, adjusts themselves to a “single color” according to stimuli from both their inner world and the environment (the “what will people say!” laws). This system is first established within the family. Its final form is given by society. I’m sure it would take days to discuss this topic. However, I think that as a person becomes aware, they take on a greater responsibility and burden. In mortgaged lives, one day you turn to yourself and say:
“Where am I in this life?” Your heartfelt sharing is very valuable…
Perhaps being able to tell people, “You’re not alone, we all share loneliness,” and touching their hearts, can bring back those beautiful colors that have faded within us over time.
Thank you in advance for reading.
