I hear that in some schools, 3 out of 4 children are taking medication. As a physician who values the health of our children, I want to share my thoughts.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medications are effective on children who are genuinely ill. Children who don’t sleep well can be diagnosed with attention deficit, and children who are enthusiastic about exploration can be labeled as naughty. Although these medications initially seem to improve attention, in the long term they reduce attention, cause addiction, and impair memory. Research supports this finding.
Even in healthy children, the side effects are frightening. I would like to draw your attention to some of these side effects:
Dementia.
Addiction.
Parkinson’s disease.
Developmental delay.
Memory loss.
Turning to other addictive substances.
In attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, getting quality sleep is vital for children. Even extending the duration of healthy sleep and eating a healthy diet can regulate attention deficit and hyperactivity in children.
I would like to share the comments of parents who have taken the time and effort to share their thoughts on this subject, via the link below. I believe that these observations will greatly enrich our knowledge.
