Today, I met with parents for a discussion. While talking about children’s eating habits, I was very impressed by what one father said. After the discussion, I went to him and said I wanted to buy him a coffee. He kindly accepted my request, and we started chatting.
“Mr. Uğur, I’ve followed some of the advice in your articles. It would be more accurate to say I preferred to be a role model rather than just teaching my children. I noticed that our eating habits were similar. I stopped consuming harmful foods containing gluten and sugar, and reduced my portion sizes. After a while, I saw that my children were doing the same. They no longer eat bread, chips, processed packaged foods, soda, ready-made meals, or sugary foods. My children are now happier, calmer, and healthier. Now we play ball together in the park on weekends and do various activities.”
With his permission, I wanted to share the story of a father who wanted to be a role model for his children. I highly value your thoughts and feelings on this matter.
I would like to share the comments of parents who have taken the time and effort to share their thoughts on this subject, via the link below. I believe that these observations will greatly enrich our knowledge.
