Dear friends.
We wanted to answer a frequently asked question in this special episode: “How should we choose school bags to protect children’s spinal health?”
Before answering this question, I’d like to touch upon the psychology of a child starting school. I will share more detailed information on this topic later, as I believe it’s a subject too extensive to cover in this space. I must say that a child who eagerly packs their school bag, clothes, books, notebooks, and pens before starting school may experience great fear on the morning of their first day.
As I mentioned earlier, I won’t go into detail about the reasons, but certain behaviors, such as parents being overly attached to their children or using school to scare or threaten them, can cause children to experience school phobia. The main point I want to warn you about is that parents generally lack knowledge about school phobia and its symptoms, leading to incorrect diagnoses when they take their children to the doctor.
When it comes to choosing a bag…
First and foremost, for your child’s physical and mental development, ensure they are consuming a balanced diet of vitamins, minerals, and protein, and that this consumption provides “real benefits,” meaning that they are synthesized in sufficient quantities in a biological sense.
– Carrying weights exceeding 10-15% of body weight puts excessive strain on the back and lumbar muscles and joints.
-It is healthy to carry the backpack on both shoulders to evenly distribute the load on the spine.
-The shoulder straps of the bags should not be narrow or too tight.
– Carrying heavy bags can cause neck and back pain.
-Heavy backpacks can cause posture problems in your child.
Stay healthy and with love.
