Scientific research shows that the medications that cause the most side effects in children are those used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and chronic fatigue syndrome.
These drugs, which have the potential to directly damage the brain, are used by children, adolescents, and students, especially outside of medical conditions, to increase attention span, and can be addictive even with short-term use.
Studies say that these stimulants used during childhood and adolescence alter dopamine levels in the brain, potentially paving the way for the use of illegal and dangerous stimulant substances later in life.
We don’t yet know what kind of damage these medications, which contain “methylphenidate” and are given extensively not only to adults but also to our children, cause to the brain, heart, and other organs with long-term use.
